WALKING SINGLES (def. 2). An abbreviation used on tournament schedules.

1. A singles game wherein the players shoot all the discs from one end of the court to complete the end, then walk to the other end of the court to shoot all the discs from there to complete the next end. The players continue in this manner, walking to the other end of the court after completion of each end. 2. A singles tournament format wherein players compete in matches of walking singles games. Shoot to place the cue disc into a position that is outside the scoring diagram and doesn't afford any positional advantage (e.g., doesn't serve as a guard or block), or to become a dead disc (into an alley, beyond the kitchen or short of the deadline), without targeting any other disc on the board. This shot is made, usually when one is ahead in score, to avoid giving one's opponent an opportunity to kitchen the shot disc, hide behind it or use it for some other advantage.
