Umpire, Court
A referee assigned to the foot of a particular court.

Up And Down Line

Up And Down Shot
A shot where the cue disc bumps up the opponent's scoring disc from the 10 to the 10-Off and the cue disc sticks in the 10 as a scoring disc. The result is "10 Up" for the shooter and "20 Down" for the opponent (whose disc went from plus-10 to minus-10, for a 20-point swing down). Syn: 10-MINUS-10 (a scoring 10 for the shooter and a scoring 10-Off for the opponent).
