Become an Author

What we are looking for

Useful court-shuffleboard writing can take many forms. Examples include:

• playing experiences, tournament stories, club activities, and event reports;
• strategy, shooting, practice, coaching, and decision-making ideas;
• questions, challenges, reflections, humor, poems, and other community writing;
• historical material, preservation work, profiles, and recollections;
• rules, equipment, organization, or reference material;
• other original material that helps people understand, enjoy, preserve, or participate in modern court shuffleboard.

How submission and review work

1. You submit or propose the article. A finished draft is welcome, but an idea can also be submitted for discussion before you spend time preparing a final version.
2. The site reviews it for fit and readiness. We may ask questions about facts, sources, permissions, scope, or how the article will be presented.
3. Editing is collaborative. Routine editing may improve clarity, organization, spelling, formatting, links, and consistency. Material changes to your meaning or viewpoint will be discussed with you.
4. You approve the publication version. The goal is a final article that represents your work accurately and is ready for the public site.
5. The site publishes the approved version. Submission does not automatically create a post or guarantee publication.

Author credit and attribution

Published contributions are credited to the author. CourtShuffleboard.com can uses a guest-author profile, giving the contributor a byline and author identity without requiring a user login account.

On the submit form, please include the display name you want shown publicly and, if desired, provide a short author bio. When an article relies on other people’s research, quotations, photographs, diagrams, or documents, those sources and contributors try to include the appropriate acknowledgement.

Originality, rights, and permissions

Please submit material you wrote yourself or material you have permission to provide for publication. If part of the work has appeared elsewhere, tell us where so we can determine whether republication is appropriate.

When you provide an image, include the photographer or source when known and any credit or permission information that should accompany it.

The permission to publish an article and accompanying materials is granted to CourtShuffleboard.com by the contributor upon submission.

Images, PDFs, and supporting files

Images are welcome when they help tell the story or explain the subject. Original, clear images are preferred, along with captions and credits when useful.

The web article is normally the primary publication. A PDF or other downloadable version may also be offered when it adds value, a suitable file exists, and the rights and presentation are appropriate. PDF availability is decided article by article rather than promised for every contribution.

Up to five files of no more than 10 MB each can be submitted with one form. For additional files, submit additional forms or reply to the email you will receive after you submit your article.

Publication decisions and later corrections

CourtShuffleboard.com may accept, decline, postpone, or request changes to a submission. Publication timing, title presentation, categories, excerpts, featured images, editorial corrections, and related site presentation are editorial decisions, with contributor input when it materially affects the work.

If a published article later needs a factual correction or clarification, please let us know.
